To some, it may seem odd that a “safari” company also offers wildlife conservation travel in places other than Africa. The word “safari” is a Swahili word meaning “travel,” and we happily apply to many incredible wildlife destinations throughout the world.
Closer to home, we begin with The Americas! The wildlife variety of the Americas is truly astounding. No other set of destinations can boast the range of habitats that stretch from inside the Arctic Circle to just 630 miles from Antarctica. Although our destinations focus on the tropical countries of Central and South America, they contain an incredibly rich diversity that may be unequaled anywhere in the world.
Here we find the splendid isolation of Ecuador’s Galápagos Islands – the site of some of Charles Darwin’s most important observations. Neighboring Peru offers explorations that may include the Amazonian reserves of Manu and Tambopata, as well as the historic Inca treasures of Cuzco and Machu Picchu. Panama is a bird lover’s paradise, with safaris into the impenetrable Darien Forest. And, in Costa Rica, you may combine the Arenal volcano, the Monteverde cloud forest and the beaches of either the Pacific or the Atlantic, in a single visit.
